Privacy Policy

PDF Editor: Edit PDF Text

Last Updated: September 21, 2026

🔒 Your documents stay on your device.
PDF files and document contents are processed locally by the app and are not uploaded to Black Apps Tech servers.

1. Our Privacy Approach

PDF Editor: Edit PDF Text is designed to let you work with PDF documents directly on your device. We do not require you to create an account to use the app.

Your PDF files and document contents are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to Black Apps Tech servers.

The app may use third-party services such as Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for app operation, diagnostics, usage measurement, and notifications. These services may process technical information as described below.

2. Information We Access

Depending on the features you use and the permissions granted on your device, the app may access the following categories of information. Where relevant, we note the purpose for which each category is collected, consistent with the data types and purposes declared in the app's Data Safety section on Google Play:

  • Files and documents. PDF files and other documents that you choose to open, edit, create, organize, convert, or share. Purpose: app functionality. Processed locally on your device.
  • Files and folders on device storage when you use file-management features. Purpose: app functionality.
  • Files selected through Android's file/media picker. Purpose: app functionality.
  • Camera or scanner input when you choose to scan documents, subject to the permissions and system components used by your device. Purpose: app functionality.
  • Device or other identifiers (such as an app installation identifier), app version, and operating-system information, processed through Firebase services. Purpose: analytics, diagnostics, and notification delivery.
  • Crash logs and diagnostics (such as stack traces, crash timestamps, and device model), processed through Firebase Crashlytics. Purpose: diagnostics and app stability.
  • App interaction and usage information (such as which features are used and how often), processed through Firebase Analytics. Purpose: analytics.

We do not intentionally use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or FCM to collect the contents of your PDF documents. If you notice any inconsistency between this policy and our Data Safety declaration on Google Play, please contact us so we can correct it.

3. Device Storage Permissions

The app can request Android storage access so that you can manage PDF files on your device. Depending on your Android version, this may include permissions that allow the app to read, create, modify, rename, move, organize, or delete files that you choose to manage through the app.

These permissions are used to provide document-management functionality. The app does not use storage access as a means of uploading your documents to Black Apps Tech servers.

You can control permissions through your Android device settings. Restricting permissions may prevent some document-management features from working.

4. Local PDF Processing

PDF editing and document-management operations are designed to occur locally on your device. This includes activities such as editing PDF text, creating PDFs, merging, splitting, compressing, organizing pages, converting files, extracting text, and similar document operations supported by the app.

Your PDF files and their contents are not uploaded to Black Apps Tech servers for processing.

5. Document Scanner

The app may provide document-scanning functionality using Google's document-scanning technology. When you choose to scan a document, the resulting document is handled within the app's document workflow on your device.

Scanning functionality may require access to your device camera or other system permissions. Captured images are processed to create a PDF within the app's local document workflow and are not uploaded to Black Apps Tech servers. Scanned images may be temporarily cached on your device (see Section 14: Temporary and Cached Files) until the resulting document is saved, discarded, or the cache is cleared.

Please also review Google's applicable privacy information for the third-party scanning technology used by your Android device.

6. Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve reliability, usability, and features.

Depending on the configuration of the app and Firebase, Analytics may process information such as:

  • App usage and interaction information.
  • App version and installation information.
  • Operating-system and device information.
  • Technical identifiers and similar information used to measure app activity.
  • Events and diagnostics associated with app usage.

We do not intentionally send the contents of your PDF documents or scanned document contents to Firebase Analytics.

7. Firebase Crashlytics

We use Firebase Crashlytics to identify, diagnose, and fix crashes and technical problems.

Crashlytics may process information such as crash reports, stack traces, app version, operating-system version, device model or technical characteristics, timestamps, installation identifiers, and other diagnostic information necessary to understand application failures.

We do not intentionally include your PDF contents, document text, or scanned document contents in Crashlytics reports.

8. Firebase Cloud Messaging

The app may use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver notifications. FCM may process technical information and device/application identifiers required to deliver messages to your device.

We do not use FCM to send your PDF files or document contents.

You can control notification permissions through your Android device settings.

9. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not require you to provide personal information such as your name, phone number, physical address, contacts, or a user account in order to use the app.

We do not intentionally collect or upload:

  • Your PDF files or document contents.
  • Your scanned document contents.
  • Your personally created PDF documents.
  • Your electronic signatures as a separate server-side dataset.
  • Your contacts or address book.

Some technical information may still be processed automatically by third-party services integrated into the app, as described in this policy.

10. We Do Not Sell or Share Your Personal Information

Black Apps Tech does not sell your PDF files, scanned documents, document contents, or any other personal information collected through the app, including the technical and diagnostic information processed by the third-party services described in this policy.

We do not share personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing or advertising purposes. Because document processing is designed to occur locally, we do not maintain a server-side collection of your PDF documents for advertising, sale, or profiling.

11. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) regarding the technical and diagnostic information described in this policy.

Because the app does not require an account and does not collect information that directly identifies you by name, most technical information (such as Firebase installation identifiers or crash logs) cannot be looked up, retrieved, or matched to a specific individual on request. Where this is the case, we are typically unable to fulfill individual access or deletion requests for that specific data, as we have no way to locate it.

You can still exercise meaningful control over this information by:

  • Uninstalling the app, which stops further collection and typically resets any Firebase installation identifier associated with your device.
  • Clearing the app's data and cache through your Android device settings.
  • Reviewing and adjusting the permissions granted to the app, as described in Section 20.

If you believe we hold personal information that can be linked to you specifically, you may contact us using the details in Section 23, and we will respond consistent with applicable law.

12. International Data Transfers

Firebase and other third-party services used by the app may process and store technical information on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required by applicable law, such transfers rely on the safeguards and mechanisms provided by the relevant third-party service.

13. Sharing and Exporting Files

The app may allow you to share or export documents using Android's sharing functionality. When you intentionally send a file to another app, website, cloud-storage provider, messaging service, email service, or other third party, that service may receive the file you selected.

The privacy practices of the receiving service are governed by that service's own privacy policy and terms.

14. Temporary and Cached Files

The app may create temporary, cached, or working files on your device while performing document operations. These files are part of the local application workflow and are not intentionally uploaded to Black Apps Tech servers.

Temporary files may remain on the device until they are automatically cleaned up or removed by the app, the Android system, or you.

15. Third-Party Services

The app may use third-party services to provide analytics, crash reporting, notifications, and document-scanning functionality. These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

Services currently used by the app include Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Google's document-scanning technology.

16. Advertising

The current version of the app does not intentionally use third-party advertising services to display advertisements.

If advertising is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe the relevant advertising technology, data practices, and user choices before or when the feature is introduced, as applicable.

17. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app. Keeping documents on your device also means that the security of those documents depends partly on the security of your device, operating system, storage, and any third-party service you choose to use for sharing or backup.

No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We encourage you to use a secure device, current Android security updates, and appropriate screen-lock protections.

18. Data Retention

Black Apps Tech does not retain copies of your PDF documents on its own servers.

Technical, analytics, crash, and notification-related information processed by third-party services may be retained according to the policies, settings, and retention practices of those services.

19. Children's Privacy

The app is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not require account registration and do not intentionally request children to provide personal information.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us so that we can review the matter.

20. Your Choices and Controls

You can control several aspects of the app through your Android device, including:

  • File and storage permissions.
  • Camera or scanning permissions, where applicable.
  • Notification permissions.
  • Access to individual files through Android's system file picker.

You can also stop using the app and remove it from your device at any time. Files created or saved by the app may remain on your device unless you choose to delete them.

21. Third-Party Privacy Policies

Third-party services integrated into the app may have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing the applicable policies for services such as Google and Firebase to understand how those services process technical information.

22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app, its features, third-party services, or applicable requirements.

When changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be updated. You should review this page periodically for the latest information.
